Developing Continuous Improvement at CTR

Continuous Improvement starts with investing in people. As part of TransTech Group's commitment to Operational Excellence, Thomas "T.J." Roark has been selected as CTR Cryo's Continuous Improvement Leader.

While continuing to serve in his current role at CTR Cryo, T.J. volunteered to take on the additional responsibility of leading a Continuous Improvement efforts for the business while also supporting improvement initiatives at AllCryo. In this role, he will work alongside sit leadership and employees to identify opportunities, lead improvement projects, and help strengthen operations across both businesses. 

Hands-On Continuous Improvement Training

To prepare for this new responsibility, T.J. recently joined Continuous Improvement Leaders from across TransTech Group for the inaugural Continuous Improvement Leader Development Program. The three-day program combined an intensive classroom training session with multiple Gemba walks and two days of hands-on application in a live manufacturing environment.

Working alongside Operations, Engineering, and Production teams, participants evaluated production flow, facility layouts, material movement, and future-state opportunitiese while applying Continuous Improvement tools to real operational challenges. The event  produced a future-state facility concept designed to optimize manufacturing space while maintaining the flexibility needed to support future growth, adapt to changing customer needs, and strengthen Operational Excellence.

Driving Operational Excellence Across CTR and AllCryo

The knowledge and experience gained through this program will help T.J. support future layout improvements, process optimization, and Operational Excellence initiatives across CTR Cryo. Just as importantly, he now joins a network of Continuous Improvement Leaders across The TransTech Group who collaborate, share best practices, and support one another in driving meaningful improvements throughout the organization.
