CARDOX® CFU HIGHLIGHTS
-
What is CTR's Cardox® CO₂ Cylinder Filling Unit?CTR's Cardox® CO₂ Cylinder Filling Unit is a complete CO₂ cylinder filling system engineered to improve productivity, enhance operator safety, and deliver reliable, repeatable filling performance.
The system transfers liquid carbon dioxide from low-pressure bulk storage tanks into high-pressure CO₂ cylinders for industrial gas applications.
Originally manufactured by Air Liquide's Cardox Cylinder Filling Unit Division, the Cardox® CO₂ Cylinder Filling Unit has supported industrial gas cylinder filling operations for decades. Today, CTR continues to manufacture and support the trusted Cardox® Cylinder Filling Unit product line for industrial gas suppliers worldwide.
-
How Does the Cardox® CFU Work? The Cardox® CO₂ Cylinder Filling Unit uses a heavy-duty liquid CO₂ transfer pump to move liquid carbon dioxide from a bulk storage tank into high-pressure cylinders.
Adjustable pressure regulation, integrated safety controls, and continuous filling capability help ensure consistent fills while allowing operators to quickly fill individual cylinders or alternate between two charging stations for increased throughput.
-
What are the Key Features & Benefits?CTR's CO₂ Cylinder Filling Unit (CFU) is engineered to maximize productivity, improve operator efficiency, and provide safe, reliable cylinder filling for industrial gas operations. Key features and benefits include:
- Efficient Liquid CO₂ Transfer – Transfers liquid CO₂ directly from low-pressure bulk storage tanks into high-pressure cylinders for fast, reliable filling.
- Adjustable Filling Pressure – Filling pressure is adjustable from approximately 600 to 1,000 PSI to optimize filling performance for varying cylinder temperatures and operating conditions.
- Continuous Filling Operation – An integrated pressure regulator automatically returns excess liquid CO₂ to storage—eliminating pump shutdowns between fills and reducing downtime.
- Higher Throughput – Dual charging lines allow one cylinder to be filled while another is changed out, increasing productivity and minimizing operator downtime.
- Integrated Safety Protection – Relief valves, a safety disc, pressure gauge, bleed-off valves, and motor overload protection help safeguard operators and equipment.
- Proven Filling Performance – Typical transfer capacity of approximately 35 pounds of CO₂ per minute for reliable cylinder filling performance.
